Take a Shot

Are you a camera freak? I confess now that I have a smart phone, I am as bad as everyone else. It occurred to me that life is like a camera.

  1. We must focus on the important things.
  2. We should capture and remember the good times.
  3. Develop from the negatives
  4. If things don’t work out, take another shot!

Is that how we live our lives? Or do we wallow in what we cannot fix, cry about the pictures that didn’t develop as we wished?

Or instead, do we learn, take lessons if necessary, and grow into the better type of pictures? Do we become someone that others want to include in their own pictures?

After all, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Remember yesterday’s words about Elijah who was in great despair? Watch his recovery.

Things happened fast. The sky grew black with wind-driven clouds, and then a huge cloudburst of rain, with Ahab hightailing it in his chariot for Jezreel. nd God strengthened Elijah mightily. Pulling up his robe and tying it around his waist, Elijah ran in front of Ahab’s chariot until they reached Jezreel. (1 Kings 18:45-46, MSG)

So get up, friend, get ready to run the race, capture a new picture of your life and trust God to be there with you!

Prayer- God, never let us forget that you really do care and that you are with us every step of the way. Amen.
