Thanks-Giving

It’s Canadian Thanksgiving today. Thanksgiving is very different from Thanks-Giving. I’ve been concentrating on giving thanks this year because last year I didn’t do so well at it.

It’s hard to be thankful for being a widow, but I am learning to be thankful in being a widow. I’m grateful that Ron is not suffering anymore. I’m learning to be thankful in the new opportunities that have come my way, even though some of them are really scary.

So my family will gather and we will celebrate Thanksgiving, but in the midst of that, I will be practicing Thanks-giving to God for the life I have now, and for the life I had before, with my darling Ronald.

What is on your Thanks-Giving List?

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18, NIV)

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. (1 Chronicles 16:34, NIV)

Prayer-Lord we offer Thanks, giving you praise for all things. In Christ, Amen.
