Surely, you are all familiar with the beloved Foot Prints Poem. Why does it touch us so much? Think about it. Footprints tell where we have been. Sometimes their mark is found in not-so-pretty places that can’t possibly honor God. And yet, God is with us in those not-so-pretty places.
He accompanies us into bars, pornography sites, buffets and dark alleys. Do we trust ourselves to pick wisely? Look where our feet left their mark and ask yourself how God felt to be dragged into those places of ill repute.
We have the opportunity to mark future paths. It’s not too late to place our toes in better joints!
Yes, friends, foot prints require decision-making. Where will our feet tramp today? Will we be content to step onto those paths? Will they honor the Lord? Our family? Our work situation? Our legacy?
But be sure to fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart; consider what great things he has done for you. (1 Samuel 12:24)
No one places your feet but you. No one can turn their feet anew, but you, only you. Tread carefully today, friend. Your feet leave a mark for all to see.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
