The Christmas Tree

Do

we ever

try to see

God’s daily gifts

to you and me? The

ones we cannot touch or

feel like air and sky and joy

so real? And what of faith and hope

sprung new? And gratitude and time to

 pray and friends who hug us everyday?

And Christ whose light shines bright

and far, prolonging glimpses of that star

that shone so bright that starry night when

 shepherds first beheld the sight of Babe so new

God’s gifts

 upon our

 Christmas tree.

The shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” (Luke 2:15b, NIV)
