I’ve witnessed a few scary weddings lately. Like the couple who eloped to Portugal but took all their wedding paraphernalia with them so they can send photos back to the neglected family.
Brides who want their ‘bachelor’ party in another country, while dressing her ‘followers’ in matching outfits.
Some wedding dresses cost as much as 10,000 dollars or more and brides willingly pay it.
Or weddings themed on Batman or James Bond or even Harry Potter.
And matching tattoos.
And invitations that say just send us money.
Or even worse, it’s a potluck. Bring your best casserole.
How much of this is bride, greed, or even just plain thoughtlessness?
How many of these weddings will end in divorce? (Hint-over 50%)
How will these folks explain these expenses, weird photos, and rudeness to their grandchildren?
Why do we spend 25,000 on a one-day event when we could make a down payment on a house?
Lust for money brings trouble and nothing but trouble. Going down that path, some lose their footing in the faith completely and live to regret it bitterly ever after. (1Timothy 6:10)
