What Do You Hear?

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16)

Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, and serve the Lord. (Romans 12:11)

Older men should be temperate, sensible, sober-minded, sound in faith, in love, and in perseverance: an older woman likewise should be reverent in behavior, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, OR TOO MUCH TIM HORTONS …teachers of that which is good, that they may train the young wives to love their husbands, to love their children (Titus 2:2-4)

Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, (Philippians 2:14-15)

In any of these verses did you hear words like this? Sit in your chair and do nothing for you are old and useless? Shut up your mouth about Jesus because no one wants to hear you speak that. Your best years are over.

No, you don’t. You hear wisdom belongs to the aged, and understanding to the old. (Job 12:12)

Can’t we still invite?  Can’t we still make a cup of tea? Can’t we visit?

If you haven’t yet asked Jesus into your life this prayer is for you. If you aren’t sure how to pray for anyone who wants to ask Jesus into their life. This prayer is also for you.

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. Thank you for sending the holy spirit to live in my heart. Amen

No one is asking you to do what you cannot do, but we are asking you to do what you can do, and now that you know better, you will do better.
