What Can You Do for Your Church?

To paraphrase John F. Kennedy, ask not what your church can do for you. Instead, ask what you can do for your church. Here are a few ideas to get us started.

Show up. Be friendly. Choose to love the Lord, your pastors and your congregation. Pray for them. Be respectful. Cooperate, take on some of the responsibilities. Apply what you learn to your life. Find out what your gifts are and use them in your church. Be part of the solutions, not a cause of the problems.

Have confidence in your leaders and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you. (Hebrews 13:17, NIV)

Prayer- Lord may we follow the advice of 1 Timothy 2:1-2 and pray for all those in authority over us. In Christ. Amen.
