When I Sing

Did you ever think you can accomplish something by singing- yes even if you sing off key? Yes you can. Just think about that for a minute.

Singing is a mini-aerobic exercise for the lungs. It’s done in obedience to the Lord.

Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, (Ephesians 5:18-19, NIV)

Singing puts scripture and truths about God deep into your heart. (Colossians 3:16,) and it encourages those around you. (Colossians 3:13-16 and Ephesians 5:19)

Singing is better than whining any day and it fights off evil spirits. Note that Paul and Silas spent their prison time singing. (Acts 16) This strengthened them and also witnessed to their captors.

Singing will cheer you up and praise God at the same time. What’s not to sing about?

Prayer- Lord, we sing out this prayer to you. You are our help and in the shadow of your wings, we sing for joy! (From Psalm 63:7) Amen.
