Words of the Faithful

“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.” – John Wesley

This sounds suspiciously like these words attributed to Jimmy Carter:

“My faith demands—this is not optional—my faith demands that I do whatever I can, wherever I am, whenever I can, for as long as I can with whatever I have, to try to make a difference.”

What do your words of faith sound like? Have you ever thought about that? I doubt that either John Wesley or Jimmy Carter would care if you borrowed theirs and used them as your own.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10, NIV)

Prayer – Father, thanks for people of faith who can state our own thoughts so clearly. Amen
