Marshmallow Babel

After the little children heard about the Tower of Babel, their Sunday school teacher gave each of them a cup full of miniature marshmallows, some syrup and the chance to build their own tower of Babel. (See Genesis 11)

Some won prizes for their creations, but one little girl won hearts with hers. She built a tower all right, a tiny, three tiered tower formed into the shape of a heart.

She found the real truth of the story. God loves us and nothing we do can separate us from that love… ever.

So let’s stop feeling rejected, alone, friendless or unforgiveable. Stop isolating ourselves in our own Tower of Babel. God loves us!

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:38-39, NLT)

Prayer – Lord God, thank you for your deep love for us.  Amen
