The Declaration of Dependence

I am declaring a declaration of dependence.

Now you are thinking, what?

A declaration of dependence? Don’t you mean independence?

No, I mean dependence. I am declaring my dependence on God. A personal holiday. I can not depend upon myself like I can God. This is just the opposite of the way the world believes.

When I fear death: “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” —Psalm 23:4

For my sustenance I trust God: “If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!” —Luke 12:28

When I am afraid: “When I am afraid, I will trust in you.” —Psalm 56:3

When I am hungry: “The LORD does not let the righteous go hungry but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.”– Proverbs 10:3

When I face insurmountable odds: “The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”– Exodus 14:14

When I am not sure where I am going: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”– Psalm 119:105

When I feel alone: “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Heb 13:5 When I feel rejected: “All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.” —John 6:37

When I feel tired: “Who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.” —Psalm 103:5

So you see why, after so many years, I have stopped depending upon my own strength and have declared dependence on God? Declare your own declaration of dependence on God. Its worth celebrating.

Praise the Lord, oh my soul, and forget not all his benefits.– Psalm 103:2
