What God is in For

Friend, when God called me, he already knew what he was in for. He knew the stupid choices I
might make and the bad actions I would take. He knew that some of my sins would be easily
overcome and that others would take a life time. I am sure of this because he says quite clearly,
But now, this is what the Lord says “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned
you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when
you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you
will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. (Isaiah 43:1-3)
Think of it friends. Common sense tells us not to get involved in those things and yet we do. And
God, who knows us so well, expected our pitfalls and our attitude in them. He understands that
we might do the same wrong thing more than once. (Or perhaps he is testing us to see if we
learned anything yet!)
Remember that the Lord made us (Jeremiah 1) He knows how much hair we have (Matthew 10)
He knows our name (Exodus 33) our heart (1 John 3, Matthew 5) and yes, even our thoughts.
(2 Corinthians 10)
Can you grasp that? He knows everything about us and yet he calls us to be his. What an offer!
